Kelly's passions for multiculturalism and education have taken her around the world. She grew up on a small island in Alaska and has lived, volunteered, and taught throughout Latin America, Asia, and the U.S. Kelly earned a B.S. in Human Development and Family Sciences and a B.A. in International Studies from Oregon State University. Additionally, she holds a CELTA from the University of Cambridge and an M.Ed. in Bilingual Bicultural Education from DePaul University. Kelly is bilingual in Spanish and English and has had over nine years of experience teaching K-12 and adult students.
Florencia's love for travel and languages inspired her to build upon her professional skills and experiences by entering the world of bilingual education. She is from Buenos Aires and has lived and worked in Argentina and Mexico. Florencia graduated with a B.A. in Business Administration from Universidad de la Empresa in Argentina, and is fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
Barbara grew up in Italy, but knew from a young age that her country was too small for her. Her desire to explore different languages and cultures has led her to: Sweden, Spain, France, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, the U.S., and now the small island of Guam. Barbara earned a B.A. in Linguistics from the University of Bologna Italy, and an M.Ed. in Bilingual Bicultural Education from DePaul University. She has taught ESL, Spanish, and Italian in U.S. and Italian Schools, and now online.
Angie was born in Bogota, Colombia. Since she was a little girl, she has dreamt of exploring the world and experiencing new cultures. She earned bachelors degrees in Education and Social Sciences from Universidad Distrital in Bogota. Angie has had extensive experience working in nonprofit organizations in the U.S. and Colombia, where she has served indigenous and immigrant communities as a bilingual teacher and social worker. She loves being able to continue working within bilingual communities while pursuing her passion for travel.
Juliana grew up in Bogota, Colombia. She shares our passion for bilingual education and believes that traveling is an essential part of learning. She has a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at Dallas, and is a certified Gifted and Talented educator. Juliana has had seven years of experience teaching bilingual elementary students (K-5th) in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. She has also had experience teaching online ESL classes to students in China, and lived in Italy as an English tutor. Juliana's passion for travel has taken her to Argentina, Peru, Italy, Spain, France, and Croatia.
Xiaojie grew up in Shanghai, China and has always had a heart to explore different cultures. Her passion for travel and languages led her to Chicago, where she had opportunities to experience a new culture and pursue a teaching career. Xiaojie earned a B.A. in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language from Shanghai University and an M.Ed. in Curriculum Studies from DePaul University. She teaches students of all ages and levels and is passionate about bilingual education.
Lynna resides in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, but grew up in Puerto Rico. She has a B.A. in Business and Marketing from the Interamerican University of Puerto, and an M.S. in Instructional Design and Educational Technology from Texas A&M. Lynna has over 20 years of teaching experience and is certified in: Early Childhood, ESL, Bilingual Education, and Texas Virtual School Network (TxVSN). She is passionate about providing quality bilingual education and supporting families.
Usha is from India and has lived in the south Indian cities of Bangalore and Hyderabad. She loves exploring different cultures and is bilingual in English and Telugu. Usha completed her Masters in Computers Applications and has taught Fundamental Computer Concepts courses to high school students. She loves being a part of Bilingual Bridges and supports our passion of bridging language barriers.
Dyana grew up in an immigrant home and her first language is Spanish. Upon entering elementary school, she was placed into a bilingual program; however, she was the only non-native English speaker enrolled. This experience posed unique challenges for Dyana, but she was determined to become bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish. She has tutored K-12 students for over twelve years and earned bachelors degrees in English and Spanish Literature from Bernard M. Baruch College. Dyana is currently teaching in Long Island and pursuing a PhD in English Literature.
Luz grew up in Chicago and is passionate about helping students maximize the benefits of being bilingual in Spanish and English. For Luz, those benefits have included: enjoying summers in Mexico, socializing with extended family, and taking college courses in Spain. Luz has over seven years of experience teaching in dual language, bilingual, and resource classrooms in Chicago. She has a B.A. from Columbia College and an MS.Ed. from Northern Illinois University.
